At Aquaculture America 2025 in New Orleans, I presented new research on shrimp pond microbiomes, showing how probiotics can help maintain healthy gut bacteria and support shrimp health during disease challenges. This year also marked the return of the Keeton party, our first since before the pandemic, with great food, music, and lively round-table discussions with colleagues from the University of Arizona, GSLA, and Prilabsa.

We started the year with an incredible trip to India for Noti’s wedding. Between celebrations, we visited a shrimp farm with Malaysian partners, collected samples for our “What’s in the Water” series, and even saw the Taj Mahal. A week full of connection, collaboration, and unforgettable moments.
